L4 Works Towards Legislation for Safer Schools

Kentucky currently is making progress in school safety with the School Security and Resiliency Act (SB1-2019), but still lacks SROs. Currently, more than 80% of U.S. public schools report that the pandemic has negatively impacted student behavior. Studies prove that school climate and safety directly impact a student's academic performance.

Regional Director Phil Feigel recently spoke on a panel about the state of school security with Kentucky Rep. Jason Nemes (R), Moderated by Kentucky Sen. Lindsey Tichenor (R).
